The infamous pink and blue sheets

Since we have recently moved, a lot of the boxes that were in our attic are now being stored where I have access to them - until we can get them moved up into the attic in the new house. Nobody seems to be writing about much on their blogs, so I guess I will provide some entertainment. :)

You remember these pink and blue sheets. MSMS compiled the lists of students, their hobbies, interests, and talents, and sent them out so that we could match ourselves up with roommates. The boys were listed on the blue sheets, and the girls were listed on the pink sheets. The logo at the top was some temporary thing that they used until they came up with the one with the faces inside the diploma shape.

More house pics

I was talking to Sandra a few nights ago, and I realized that I hadn't taken pictures of the rest of the house since we got the furniture in.

The walls are painted a builder's grade gray color, and the trim is painted a slightly darker shade of that gray color. Not my choice, but we'll have to live with it until we can get the interior painted. I hadn't noticed before, but now that we live here I see that all the rooms have crown molding in them. Even the teeny toilet room in our master bath. The carpet is frieze - it's light beige with a dark fleck in it - and it was sort of a mess upstairs, but it cleaned up really well. Another neat feature that Cass doesn't really like is that most of the closets have the switch on the door which cuts the light off when the door is closed. The master closet, Luke's closet, and the pantry have it - Cameron and Logan's closets don't.

Good morning, it's the FBI

I'm putting this here to document. About 10 minutes ago, our doorbell rang. I'm not dressed yet, so Cass answered. It was a guy, dressed in a suit. He identified himself as a FBI agent, showed a badge, and asked if anyone named Charmaine Beasley (or something like that) lived here. Cass answered no, of course. He asked if we owned the house. Cass answered yes. How long? Well, we bought it about 10 days ago. Did we have it built? No. Had we ever heard of anyone named Beasley? No - the only mail we get is for David Diggles, and I've confirmed that he was the owner of the house before it got foreclosed. The guy seemed satisfied, and he went and got in his beige car and left. Very weird.

I know that we should expect some unpleasantries, since we bought a house that got repossessed by the bank. There was a lien by the city for unpaid water bill that we had to get cleared up before we could close on the new house. We didn't have the clickers that opened the automatic garage doors. We don't have a basket for the flatware in the dishwasher. The walls are pretty dirty and dinged up. Thank goodness there's no major damage to the house or property.

But we certainly didn't expect the Federal Bureau of Investigations to come knock on the door. Cass just called the city non-emergency line to report it.

They're off!

We turned in all the paperwork in the office this morning, then we walked them down to their new classrooms. Logan's teacher is Mrs. Rentfro, and the little girl from across the street, Campbell, is in her class. Cameron's teachers are Mrs. Stewart and Mrs. Wilson. She got a locker in the hallway right outside her classroom.

I can't wait to hear about it when they get home later.

(Do you notice anything missing on Logan's face? She forgot her glasses on the first day. Oy.)

New house pictures

I haven't been able to upload pictures since we moved, but I did get some new ones off the camera to share. I just got a "we moved!" card printed, and I'll be sending it out in the next few days, I hope.
