The 4th and 5th graders were put into groups and asked to write a poem about Veterans' Day. They chose the top 3, which will be read at the Veterans' Day program on November 11. Cameron's group - Sage, Caitlin, Logan, and Cameron - won 1st place in the poetry contest!
Do you ever wonder why our flag is there,
Waving proudly in the air?
Red is for blood, blue is for pride,
White is how we stand side by side.
The veterans are the ones who saved
All the ones that are here today.
The eleventh hour, the eleventh month,
The eleventh day, hurray, hurray!
This is why we're here
To show you we do not fear.
The veterans we have were not afraid,
That is more than we can ever say.
Veterans, though you may not have seen
How much you really mean,
Know that we will always care,
And appreciate that you've been there.

Wow! Great job! Is that our Logan or another one in Cameron's class? Tell them I said Congrats!
That's Cameron's best friend, Logan R. She's in Cameron's class at school, which makes it very confusing.
